A Message In a Bubble.....A New Divahlicious Project!

Ladies I have a great story for you. One day I was coming back from seeing the doctor, I was down in the mouth because makeup season is over and its going to get cold soon. I am In the N.Y.C Metro area, winter sucks! Whoa- come back. I was passing this store and this beautiful scent came from it, so as curiosity had my mouth watering, I went inside. It was a Bath and body type place with candles and all kinds of beautiful things. On the one day I forget my  business cards, I met one of the owners and his sales person. I told them I was a makeup artist and I was looking for organic face wash and a new fragrance.  He said great, he didn't have the face wash yet, but I did get a great perfumed oil spray. Love it! Its lightly scented and a moisturizer that I actually use as a base fragrance. I gave him my number and left. As I was waiting for the bus he came out to me and asked me if I would give a presentation about makeup on their ladies night; which was on Thursday-The next day! I was like, wow. I Thanked God for the answer to my woes and there it was......In. A Message In A Bubble! Literally! L.O.L!
Mind you, this shop A Message In A bubble , is a brand new shop and they just started doing this ladies night as a way to bring in some people. The lady they had to organize the affair flaked out and they had nothing-luckily I came along! Yaaay me, I was really worried about this fall/winter.
Well , Ladies Night was a success as you can very well see. We gave away some gift baskets, talked about some products that I wash my clients face with and how to prep the skin for makeup! It was great! We had the most wonderful group of ladies. I even met someone who had my card already. In fact she was walking down the street with bags and I asked her to come and take a look around and have some wine and cheese and mingle.Turns out she was going through some things and she found my card trying to figure out who gave it to her. I love when things happen like that. This could be the start of something big! When I finished the night, I thanked the owners for having me and they asked me to take over ladies night! I am soooo happy! This is great, I have a nice group of people and a way to network myself. So ladies, I am inviting you to come to ladies night at A Message In A Bubble-704 Grand street Between Ivy and Summit, Jersey City, N.J Every Thursday starting at 7 until 10. Pleas come , You have nothing to loose and a few great gift baskets, perfumes, organic oils, wine, cheese and Divahlicious Makeup to gain. See You There!

A Special Thanks to the Owners Rodney and Samuel , For giving me the opportunity to do something this Fall/winter.
Most of all a special thanks to the ladies who took the chance to come inside
Alicia,Fay,Sabrina,Jeanette and Sherry

Back To School Or Hurry Up and Go already...Celebration Time Mom!!

Well my dear fans, it has been a while.I have been busy with my granddaughter.I was loving every minute of having a inquisitive seven year old little girl in the house. I miss having a little kid that loves and needs you. My youngest just turned 17 and she is not happy. Oh , teenage angst!.Sigh. Some days she is sweet as pie and the next moment , I want to put her in the trash bag next to the curb!! Just kidding! Once she turns twenty she will be fine.My 22 year old was the same way. Now we are cool! Lucky for me, I didn't have to deal with that all summer! My daughter just came back from studying in a Japanese high-school all summer. For those who don't know, my daughter taught herself Japanese at the age of 13, on the internet. Only because she loved Anime and was tired of reading the sub-titles. I told her by the time she was 17 she will go to a Japanese exchange student program. She did it! I am so proud!! She didn't want to leave Japan! She said there were a lot of Americans in Hiroshima who came to visit and didn't leave. I am preparing my self because I believe she may want to go to collage there and stay for good. She told me she just feels like she belongs there.Sigh again, my kids are grown and I'm not that old and I don't find this fair! Grand children is enough, thanks to my step-sons! I don't have enough gray hair! Grunt! Now back to you guys.....
Congratulations to all the Mom's whom are sending their kids back to school!! NO MORE" I'M BORED, MOM" My reply was if you are that bored take your butt back to school, so I can rest! Am I right ladies? Sheesh! For the back to school Mom's- step away from your computer and pat yourself on the back for making through another summer! For the new Moms sending their kids to school for the first time-let go of the hand they will be fine. If they start to cry, Don't look back, It will just break your heart.
For all the Mom's sending your kids off to collage its basically the same as when you sent your baby off to school the first time! Let go of their hand and don't look back or they may see you crying.
No matter what you are doing come this September or late August( for all my people down south, luckyyyy), remember-worry makes you old before your time. Not good for the skin. That night, when you get your first " so how was your first day at school" and the reply...either" I hate all my teachers or I got every course I wanted or High-school is great or I made my first friend ever and now we are going to be besties for life(Kindergarten). Sit back and have some tea and give yourself a nice soothing facial.
Hope your summer of 2k-14 was great, now its back to business!!

Thanks for your patience!

How To Wash You Makeup Off Completely

It is most important to clean all the makeup off your skin. If you sleep in it or Not completely get all the stuff off under your eyes, you will age faster than you are supposed too.
I had a friend who wore makeup from the time she was 13. Now at the age of 44 she looks at least in her fifty's. Since I was a little girl my mother got me into the habit of using an astringent and a toner after each face wash.
#1 Wash your face with either a circular brush, a buff puff or a apricot scrub. Use q tips with warm water to get off the eyeliner in the waterline of your eye. Try not to use to many chemicals on your face. Along with the apricot scrub I like to use a clay mask (weekly)and Johnson's baby soap to cleanse you skin gently to get all the apricot shells off your skin.
#2 First rinse with warm water and gradually rinse it in tepid water.
#3 Use the astringent with a cotton pad with a scrubbing pattern. Then use a toner to tighten and brighten your complexion.
#4 Use a moisturizer for night time, depending on your skin type, if you need help choosing one, leave a comment and explain your skin type and I will give you a good moisturizer. During the day , the most important thing to do is have a moisturizer with a sunscreen. Don't forget to use a base as well under your makeup.
Once a week at night you should use olive oil as a moisturizer at night. Do Not use every night or you will clog your pores.
#5 Enjoy looking in your thirties at the age of 50.
#6-P.S Don't forget to give yourself a facial once a week. Never do it three days before you have to go out because it bring out all the imperfections in your skin and with some people it may cause zits.

As A Sales Person, Accountant . Advertiser, Marketer of Your Own Business.....

#THEBEATYBIZOFDIVAHLICIOUSMAKEUP

My Dearest Makeup artists, I think I have realized one thing about the makeup business this year. Alot of these weddings are shotgun weddings, due to our many, many inches of snow! It snowed in places this year it never snowed! Things are hard for us because most of the kids are young , I mean really, really young and they are all over the you tube videos where people actually show them how to put on makeup.
That's the way my 11 year old taught herself Japanese. Its no surprise!
The internet is an amazing invention. However, I spent time and money learning many different techniques and how to use colors to bring out the complexion. I think about the lighting in the place, I think about the lighting inside the reception hall. Sure go ahead and do your own makeup ( you tube watchers) and IF you have what it take then more power to you. Some people have a natural gift for colors. I did too that's why I decided on this career.
HOWEVER, I am tired of this and I am ready to take makeup to a new luxury fashion that I learned in the East. I am #lookingforentrepreneurstoturnluxuryonitseardivahliciousmakeup . I had the opportunity to pig out on one of these places while I was away . Sadly I looked in the greatest city in America (NYC)  there was nothing.
