Hello. Long time no write. Shame on me....o.k, enough of that. Today I have my philosophers hat on and I begun to think about how in some way- no matter where we are there is always going to be someone you can connect with. Rather it be through marriage,business,family, someone you know, will know someone to help you connect to the person you are destined to meet..
As with that rule there is always a part B. You can meet that person on your own. No matter what you do there will be a connection a business connection , an old friends friend.. As human beings we are never meant to be alone. We are made this way so that we have a chance to fulfill our destiny, love-marriage-fortune-business-capital gain, the list goes on.
If you still feel alone , think about how you got to where you are now.Ever since I was old enough to understand this concept, I felt alone for a while until my father explained the very thing I told you. With some of my family here, some there and family in other countries, some I have met, others not. We are all under the same sky.
For instance , I left my business cards around a store(which shall remain nameless) she picked up her phone( a photographer) and asked me if I needed business cards, actually , I need a photographer whom I can proudly say, amazing.I want her to do the same , so that we both can connect; with a young woman whom is getting married, I am also good friends with her mother. Six degrees see?.
Love is Funny and sad at the same time. At the age of thirty , I was struggling to make it from day to day and that was only because, as young people we are not given an instruction book This is when I learned to listen more to my parents. Any older person I could talk to I would ask them questions. Any way, I finally after a tumultuous relationship I finally outgrew him! The week before my mother died she made a very mean but true statement...I was a bum magnet, if there was a guy within an inch of me, I would date his ass. My Mom promised me she would send me a soul mate. By the way he started looking for me the week my mother died. Three days before my husband met me , he met my 1st husband, They met the day I kicked him out.
He told my husband all the horrible things he did to me, he told him what a great person I was and my now husband said to him, If I meet her ....I will marry her! My husband never makes a statement about love that is not serious. I met him the day my mother died, I went to the bar I used to work at and just tried to drown my sorrow. Three minuets later a tall ,Dark and handsome man sent me a drink and I went to say thanks. Next thing I know I am saying yes to a marriage proposal from a guy I met two hours ago. Someone actually told him about the cute bartender and sent him to me. another six degrees. No matter where you go you are never alone, you know someone, who knows someone, who knows you.

Seriously though, we at Divahlicious Makeup made a good business connection with a couple of very smart and talented people named Noni and Jay; They own PRINT IT!. From one artists point of view, these people are very talented and quite friendly. If Noni and Jay can't do it, odds are it cannot be done. They are very professional and guarantee their works' quality. As I have seen with these two eyes, their special sales cannot be beat! Noni found my business card and called me and one thing led to another. While visiting their shop I asked to take a look at some of their prices, I was amazed. How To Choose The Correct Makeup Artist For Your Special Day......
Choosing a makeup artist is not easy. Makeup artists come a dime a dozen. There are some that will charge you for everything they do separately.They will charge you for special designs. There are makeup artists that will charge you for a consult. There are makeup Artists whom will charge you extra for transportation to your venue( most of my clients usually send a car for me) Some makeup artists will charge you for your pre-wedding photo shoot.
Most make up artists don't need a licence for what they do, however they do need to go to school and have at least 200 hours of beauty school. In my state , N.J you do not need a licence however you need to know that sterilization and cleanliness is most important! Any person in any beauty business needs to know this!!
I take sterilization of my tools very , very seriously only because, HIV and Aids and even herpes can be spread from one client to another. It is very important while interviewing your makeup artist that you look at how he or she keeps his/her equipment. I use an airbrush which definitely cuts down on illnesses. I ask my customers to bring their own mascara and after each customer, I clean all my brushes with alcohol and hot water. I also change my makeup including eye-shadows and lipsticks every three months(you should do this for your self as well, bacteria is no joke) and after each customer I spray them with a special spray.
Don't ever just settle for any make up artist because you like their work. Make sure that these people have your heath in mind.Make sure these people have your best interests in mind not just the all mighty dollar!!
Another thing that really annoys me about some makeup artists is instead of asking you about how you wish to look, they force a look on you. Some even just have one style which they do on everyone.
The best thing you should do is have a makeup practice day, before your big day, like a wedding rehearsal. Bring some pictures for the artist to see so she can do the style you choose or you can have the artist try different styles on you and take pictures. Then you can decide which one you like the best. It may be a little pricey but it is better then having to walk around with a look that you are totally unsatisfied with on your special day. I charge one flat fee which includes everything, practice, transportation and your special designs. Not everyone's preferences are the same so I try to give you the best price for what you are asking me to do.I also give my clients facial wash and moisturizers which help to brighten your skin and keep your face in excellent condition so you can shine on your special day.

About me and Divahlicious Makeup

Welcome. Many people are looking at this site and saying" what makes this makeup artist better than the fifty million other makeup specialists I have looked at before."
Well let me give you some background information about myself. I grew up in a salon from the time I was ten years old I would help my Aunt( the owner of the Salon) answer the telephone, greet people when they came in and make sure they understood about the services and specials my Aunt was offering her customers for that day or week. I had no idea at that time that this was the career I would choose. All I knew was I loved making people smile, because they were so satisfied.
My Aunt was( she is retired after 38 yrs in salon) a strict believer in making people happy and showing them how to take care of their hair when they got home. She offered products for them to use so that by the time the customer came back their hair was in better shape and there was no question of her having repeat clients.
For me as a makeup artist I have been doing the same thing ; I learned from my aunt for the past 15 years. What I do is I offer my Wedding/Prom/just because customers a special product that I make from 100% natural ingredients to wash their face in the morning and night, along with that I give them a special moisturizer which goes along with their facial type weather it be dry, oily or even half and half. Unfortunately I do not know how to make moisturizers but I do
recommend that at night my clients use olive oil to moisturize at night. I believe that the face needs to be prepared for at least a week before the special day so that you will glow as you are supposed to. I recommend foods to stay away from, like salt and anything fried or with tons of grease. I have a friend who does wraps (all over body to help you loose water weight you may have retained during your stress time) a lot of my clients are completely happy with her services and are repeat customers.She does an excellent job and she has an amazing personality, which always helps in the beauty business.
I also have clients in NYC whom ask me to come to their office early in the morning to do their makeup before their staff arrives. Have makeup and willing to travel. I will go anywhere. Last year I did a bride in Puerto Rico. It was wonderful they paid for my hotel and I made sure that I followed the bride every and anywhere she went. She was so happy, especially after her husband threw her in the water during her photo shoot and she looked like a raccoon. I was there makeup in hand fixed everything and it was the most awesome. I would love to show you these pictures but since the young lady works for the government and she can't even get clearance for a Facebook account .
It is very, very important to me, to make you not only happy but to show you how you can achieve the looks that I have done for you that day on your own. However, most people just like to be pampered. I do facials. However I do not recommend having a facial on the day of your event.
The quality of my services are more important to me than the quantity, however I am looking for more clients as I have found another makeup artist whom is a little bit younger than me and so I really, really would like your patronage. If only for a date makeup job. We are not as expensive as you think and the hottest look these days is the natural look during the day and sexy smokey eyes at night.

Why Have I not met "Mr. Right yet...My clock is ticking........
Yes, ladies here is the answer that I tweeted and posted on Facebook. For everyone else who did not see the comment , I was listening to a younger friend of mine today asked me, where is my Mr "Right?"
Well, I said to her there is no law that says you must be married by 27 years old#1.
#2- I gave her a list of a few things to do. Make a list that you think makes you lovable to men. BE HONEST this is just for your eyes only!! #2- Write down all the things that you will not ever change because you love him...it could be your dream career, your children from a previous marriage or the fact that you have many more male friends than women friends ( No, not all these men are out for one thing, most of them don't see me as a girl, more like a kewl friend to hangout with.)
#3- Write down the things that you need from this man, good credit, good job, generous lover,easy to talk to and most of all, your first conversation must be like you have known him for years.
#4- TAKE YOUR TIME...True love takes time , look at your past relationships, what went wrong? BE HONEST!!! The worst person to lie to yourself is you!!!
#5- When you finally go out together after a few phone calls, jot down as much as you have learned about him...even though your heart is screaming( like a little girl, I want to be loved) If you see no potential then do not be bothered or you may loose the precious time you are so worried about going back in forth with a man you know darn well you can never be with!
#6- The OBJECT of this is to #1 get you a good man and number two tell him everything about your self even the bad parts... Do you want to know what I told my husband after he proposed to me on the first time we spent together..please come here my mother died and I need a shoulder to cry on! #2 I told him EVERYTHING, I MEAN IT ALL!! I am a super Bit%& , I am not the greatest house keeper. I am a good cook, I will not hold my words back if I believe you were wrong.Never in front of our children and we will never go to bed angry At the time we met my daughter Nicole was just a baby who had never met her biological father and my soon to be husband was a single father himself. That made me happy too.
Even after I told him all those horrible things and he finished the baked ziti I made the night before(not even knowing why(until much later), he asked me if I wasn't busy....for the rest of my life- I said"no." He said good ,marry me please. I said OK. Finally, I thought someone who loves me for me.
You know what I will never forget...He even asked Nicole for her permission to marry her too along with her Mommy. She said yes. She loved him, the first day she met him. She was much easier to please, she is sixteen but she loves her Daddy.
#7- YOUR CHILD OR CHILDREN always come first, never ever a man.
#8-Be sure you can support yourself , so that you totally wont be left out there if things go wrong.
#9- WHICH SHOULD HAVE BEEN NUMBER ONE
LOVE YOURSELF FIRST! How can you expect someone to love you if you don't give off that vibe of love. Even if you have kids, take care of your personal appearance. COME to DIVAHLICIOUS MAKEUP AND CHILD OF GOD SALON and get a makeover. Ask me anything you need to know concerning this blog, I am listening! Life is like a very long road map, as you travel down the road there are things in your car (or LIFE) which may be toxic , such as some of your "friends " who may even had their hand in some of your break up woes.Stop listen to everyone and create a new you!

Want to get rid of some of that stress? Go to a hockey game , drink beer and yell your heart out until things become clear again. I do. I love it Hockey fans are insane!

He told my husband (NOW) that he did the wrong thing to a wonderful woman...needless to say my x told my husband everything about me as he drove him from Newark, NJ to Edison NJ. My now husband of fourteen years said to my x...If he ever were to meet a woman like that he would ask her to marry him ; with NO hesitations.
The Moral of the story?? Toss away your baggage and get rid of all toxic relationships!!! Yes, verbal abuse is domestic abuse and at times its worse than hitting a woman!! Learn to love yourself more, fix your faults, we are never too old to learn, once we stop learning we die! Harsh but its true!!
Love will come to you,Exude beauty and confidence as well as love and your Prince will come but you need to make sure to come to us as well... we are located in Northern NJ/NYC Metropolitan area. Professionalism in the beauty(makeup,hair,fashion&nails)industry.
One time, instead of doing my own nails I decided to go to a salon ,being a nail tech myself I know many of the rules in my state. There also was a course on professionalism. I wish they had a course on how to advertise electronically.
The technician who worked on me was quite rude. She made me feel bad for sitting in her chair.Several times I Had ask her to please clean her instruments and please use a new file. She was so irritated with me she cut the side of my finger and got nail polish on my skin. I understand her being angry but these are state rules; on top of that she was, need I say again, quite rude.
I simply got out of the chair took her licence number and name and reported this woman to the state board of cosmetology.As a customer you have the right to refuse service from a certain technician.
So, the manager sent me to a new tech who diligently made sure all her instruments were clean yet she constantly cut my fingers and filled my nails very hard. I think it was to get back at me for reporting her co-worker.
I DO NOT DO BUSINESS THIS WAY!!! As a makeup artist my number one job is to make sure that the customers wishes and need are catered to. I make sure I spell out why I charge what I do for each service. I even make sure my customers have a special face wash to maintain and make their face perfect and flawless for their #weddingdaymakeup. I go above and beyond in my services and I will even let you have your way even if I know its wrong I wont recharge you for doing it over. THE CUSTOMER IS ALWAYS FIRST!!!!
I am begging you please when picking out a makeup artist make sure you get clean instruments( I use airbrush) and make sure they stay with you during photos and at least when you change your clothes for the reception. That's what I do. I even do Pre- wedding shoots. Last year I did a wedding destination inpuerto Rico. It was the most beautiful wedding I have ever seen.. So my Beautiful DIVAH BRIDES.....Demand professionalism if you are in the NORTHER N>J/ NYC metropolitan area make an appointment with me.
